REFLECTIONS ON PANAMA AFTER TWO WEEKS

1. 99% of all grass that is cut in Panama is cut with a weed wacker.
2. It is rare to see a Panamanian smoke.
3. They won't issue you a license to drive a taxi in Panama unless you have a death wish.
4. There are no traffic signals in this country outside of Panama City. If you can find one I'll throw in with you.
5. If it comes down to a choice between having breaks or having a horn, most Panamanians will choose the horn. I'm sure of it.
6. Jefferson County Missouri road builders learned their craft in Panama.
7. There is no bad tasting food in Panama.
8. There are no tender steaks in Panama, but...
9. Panamanians are tender hearted and fiercely patriotic.
10. This is such a small country that it's impossible for a Panamanian who was raised here to go anywhere without running into someone he or she knows.
11. The Panamanian flag flies on every ship as it passes through the canal. Usta be the American Flag.
12. The Lord has blessed our country with a combination of “Yankee Ingenuity” and drive that has allowed us to develop and use technology in such a way that we have accumulated so much wealth that we are able to paint over many of the stark realities of life that most of the rest of the world has to live with on a daily basis.
