HALF WAY---Almost
Today I will be half finished with my school. It is very hard. I am in class six hours per day and it is relentless. The teachers never stop challenging the students. Just when I think I am ready to coast with what I have learned, they start something new. I started learning irregular verbs this week. I'm not sure, but there are something like 5 or 6 sets of irregular verbs in Spanish. Actually, in my opinion every verb is irregular. That's because the group they call regular seems only slightly larger than the others. But, I can tell you this, I am understanding a lot more Spanish now than when I arrived. I have a long way to go, but at least I'm no longer asking the teachers to repeat themselves every sentence. I was listening to a talk show in the cab on the way home today and was actually able to follow some of the conversation (not much, but some). Heck, in two more weeks maybe I can run for office here.
There will be no more posts until probably Tuesday of next week. I am going to Chirique (pronounced CHIT AH KEY) this weekend and I'm not taking my computadora. One of my teachers (from Chirique) tells me that it's the breadbasket of Panama. Does not matter to me what's there. I'm ready to get away from school for a while.
